We want and need your involvement in SRCA!   

There are lots of opportunities to get involved in the Association, whether it’s SRCA board officer or other volunteer role. For board officers, the time commitment varies per office but there are monthly board meetings usually held by Zoom. A general description of each office follows:

• President: Presides at monthly Board meetings, SRCA annual meeting, and other meetings of SRCA. Provides general executive direction and appoints chairs and members of Committees. Member of AFCA (Alexandria Federation of Civic Associations).

• First Vice President: Serves as the liaison to SHA (Seminary Hill Association) and to the City of Alexandria as needed. Chairs SRCA meetings in absence of the President. Replaces President if vacancy occurs.

• Second Vice President: Responsible for all SRCA social events set each year.

• Secretary: Issues notices of SRCA meetings, events, and other information approved by the board. Keeps minutes of meetings. Updates SRCA Website. Posts SRCA meetings/news on social media sites.

• Treasurer: Collects and deposits annual dues or other funds received. Pays all invoices/bills. Keeps a record of all funds received and spent. Reports on fiscal standing of SRCA at SRCA’s Annual Meeting and upon request. Files official paperwork for SRCA.

• Parliamentarian: Advises the presiding officer on the conduct of business at all SRCA meetings using the SRCA Constitution and Bylaws.
