Why Join?

We are excited that you want to join our community. Below you will find additional information on the membership benefits along with an application to sign up.

 

What your membership provides:

  • A voice in Alexandria for issues concerning our neighborhood 

  • Newsletters from the SRCA Board (at least monthly), which update you on upcoming activities and the latest topics of interest

  • Community yard sale (usually in May)

  • St. Patrick’s Day celebration (in March)

  • Picnic and annual meeting (in September)

  • Movie night “Screen on the Green” (usually in June)

  • Halloween party and parade (October 31)

  • Holiday party (December)

  • Book club (monthly)

  • Copy of SRCA Directory (latest edition issued February 2021)


Dues: $50.00 per year per household

Additional Information

All activities are free to both covenant and non-covenant members. Everyone is encouraged to volunteer for events of interest; to do so, please email us at: news4srca@gmail.com. Note that only covenant members can vote at the Annual Meeting and hold office.

Application for Approval of Exterior Modifications

 

Process

  1. Submit application (including preliminary plan or sketch) to SRCA President as early as possible.

  2. The Community Committee will review and vote on each application as soon as practicable, but no later than 30 days after the first day of the next succeeding month after an application has been received (see “Seminary Ridge Subdivision: Deed of Restrictions and Covenants,” §4). Most routine applications can be responded to within two weeks.

  3. Following approval by the Community Committee and notification to that effect, the applicant (or its contractor) should apply to the City of Alexandria for any and all appli- cable permits. All approvals by the Community Committee are conditioned upon all City of Alexandria permit and other requirements being met.

  4. Upon approval by the SRCA Community Committee and the City of Alexandria (if re- quired), the project should be started and completed expeditiously, and with due re- gard for the sensibilities of contiguous neighbors.
